Caterpillars – Structured Classes for Under 3’s

Coach-led, structured gymnastics classes for children who are confidently walking, up to 3 years old. In these sessions, a coach will lead children, along with their accompanying adults, through a warm-up song and activity followed by both floor and apparatus-based circuits. This will include equipment such as bars, beams, rings, and trampolines that are available to us at the main site. Throughout the term, gymnasts will rotate around this equipment to ensure a wide variety of experiences are available to aid your little gymnast’s learning. These classes require adult participation and involvement.

Here we focus on the development of movement patterns and learning through exploration.

Monday / Tuesday / Thursday / Friday AM – Booking is required on a termly basis – NOW £7 per session – both British Gymnastics Membership and an annual Club Membership fee are required.

Grasshoppers – Structured Classes for over 3’s (Independent)

Coach-led, structured classes for children aged 3 – 4 years old. These classes are aimed at developing children’s independence and social skills along with teaching the basics of gymnastics. Children will work in small groups, along with a personal coach to follow a warm-up activity, and circuit-based gymnastics activities. Throughout the term in these classes, gymnasts will rotate around this equipment to ensure a wide variety of experiences are available to aid your little gymnast’s learning.

Here we focus on developing the basics of gymnastics through the key shapes, movement patterns and basic skill development.

In addition to this, all children in our pre-school classes will be given the opportunity to work towards British Gymnastics badges. These badges are designed by British Gymnastics to enable children to begin their gymnastics journey through exploration and play centred activities around different themes.

Our grasshopper pre-school camps are suitable for gymnasts aged 3-4 years taking place at our Seacroft site. Each camp will have its own theme, such as story fun, seaside, and the zoo! Gymnasts will have the chance to explore the gym using the bars, beams, trampoline, pits, and more! Within the 3 hours, there will be a break where the gymnasts will have time to have a snack, so please ensure children have brought a bag with a small snack and drink. Guardians do not need to stay on-site, however, we do ask that they are contactable and able to return to the gym if needed.

The teaching standard is excellent.

“My son has been going to LGC pre-school classes for the last 18 months and he absolutely loves it. This last term has been particularly excellent and the structure of the lessons are great. He has learnt lots in terms of technique and mostly confidence. He has loved his Star of the Session awards which have really motivated him. The teaching standard is excellent.”

The coaches are brilliant with the children

“My daughter loves coming here in the pre school class. She is never going to be an amazing gymnast, however I wanted her to become more confident moving on equipment and try something new.
She has come on so so much, she couldn’t hold her body weight on the rings for a millisecond when she started and today I watched her hold it for 5 seconds! She is jumping confidently in the foam pit – again something she wouldn’t dare go into and walking along the beam! The coaches are brilliant with the children, they take time to help and support them and know their strengths and weaknesses to support them on certain pieces of equipment. We watched the session today and was lovely to see what they do and how well the children listen and know the routines too.
Thank you”

The coaches have all been amazing

Thank you to everyone who had made Georgie’s return to gymnastics so brilliant. She did both the pre-school classes and the 3 day transition camp and she loved every minute! The coaches have all been amazing, they have made it so safe, stress free for the kids and exciting. Georgie has missed it so much and is chuffed to bits to be back! She can’t wait to start her reception classes next week. Thank you all for being so wonderful! ❤️ xx
