My Adult Gymnastic Experience

The fun never stopped! I wasn’t ready to leave the adult gymnastics session. I was having too much fun and was in awe of talent amongst me. Picture bodies flipping, twisting and bending with a range of supervised techniques suitable for beginners or for those that fancy themselves to be quite the gymnast. Perfect for socialising, fitness and enjoyment.

The warm up started with everyone on the mat, stretching and socialising with other participants. After limbering up we proceeded to complete fun activities such as a warm up assault course involving running, hurdling and ducking under mats. I felt this was a really great way for everyone to interact and raise their heart rate in order to prevent injury.

Soon after completing a fantastic warm up we were tasked with choosing one of the many apparatuses. There was plenty to choose from: ring, trampoline, parallel bars, balance beams and vault… well, you seem to understand the idea. With careful consideration I managed to pick the trampoline, which was carefully designed with a foam pit adjacent.

Carefully, making my route through the maze of apparatuses I came to the edge of the trampoline. It was bigger than I thought and considerably bouncier than the one in the back garden. With just a couple of bounces, whoosh, I managed to tuck my legs in and spun into the foam pit. BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!

After thoroughly enjoying jumping and flipping numerous times, I just about managed to pull myself away at the end of the session. I found myself having a tremendous time and learning so much from the amazing coaches, as well as meeting many people. I can’t wait for the next session… bring on the vault.
