We are over the moon to announce that we are the British Gymnastics Club of the Year for 2021!

It was just announced by BG that we triumphed in the large club category. Leeds Gymnastics Club, which traces its roots back to the Leeds Athletic Institute in the 1960s is now based at Seacroft in Leeds. The club has grown significantly since 2012 when it moved into its own facility and now offers exceptional gymnastics to every ability and age.

The Board of LGC is delighted to receive this award on behalf of all our staff, gymnasts and members. It is wonderful to have all of our hard work, in the most challenging of circumstances over the past year, recognised by BG.

What BG said about Leeds Gymnastics Club

With 1,600 members, Leeds Gymnastics Club provides opportunities to take part in gymnastics to all ages, levels and abilities. To help do this, they offer additional discounts and bursaries to support families on low incomes and work with schools to provide curriculum support and after school provision. As well as this, Leeds have implemented continued professional development opportunities for its staff. The club hosted 1,300 Zoom classes to gymnasts of every age from January to April 2021, which was a testament to the coaches’ resourcefulness, creativity and dedication to the children at a difficult time. The club also appointed a safeguarding consultant who has reviewed policies and procedures at the club and provided welfare training to staff.
