GymFest runs Every JUNE

Venue & facilities

Leeds Gymfest has taken place at Leeds Beckett University Sports Arena for the last 3 years since its return after the COVID-19 pandemic. The arena has tiered/floor seating for 750 with full stage lighting, effects, and professional sound system. This will mean gymnasts are performing with full theatre lighting. Performances take place on 14 x 14m tri-bond carpeted floor (non-sprung). We can provide some equipment including crash mats, blocks and trampettes.

Performances

We run three separate shows over the course of the day, which will allows us to maximise our gymnast and audience capability. The shows will be approximately 1.5 hours long and all teams will be able to watch the shows around their performance slot in the designated gymnast seating. Performances can be 3 minutes in length for up to 15 gymnasts. Displays with more than 16+ gymnasts will be granted a maximum of 6 minutes in length. A running order will be produced and sent to clubs approximately one month before the event. Any form of gymnastics or display may be performed, and the use of costume or props is encouraged. The minimum number of gymnasts for a display is 12 (except Acro Partnerships or Elite performers), there is no
maximum number. Only one entry per club (excluding Leeds Gymnastics Club) will be allowed. A second team entry will be put on the waiting list and in the event of spaces in the programme we will be delighted to accept the entry. For insurance purposes, all participants must be current members of British Gymnastics or have evidence of suitable gymnastic insurance to cover the skills being performed. If the event becomes fully booked, priority
will be given to BG registered clubs.

Awards

All gymnasts will receive a commemorative medal. Awards will be presented for the following;
Best Costume
to be presented per show
Best Choreography
to be presented per show
Best Overall Display
to be presented across all 3 shows
Our judges have wildcard awards available to give to teams that they feel should be rewarded for specific reasons.


